The G19X pistol is a commercial version of the Glock MHS, designed to meet the US Army's modular pistol system requirements. In other words, the model was created to compete for the US military contract that Glock almost won. The only difference between the commercial version and the military is that the G19X does not have a manual thumb safety.

The G19X comes in a standard Glock case, but in a different desert brown color, called the Coyote by Glock. The pistol comes with one standard 17 round magazine and two extended 19 round magazines. It comes with four additional strap options that you can add to the smaller back strap standard holder. The overall design is unchanged from the original Glock design, but there are some changes. For the most part, the G19X has a slightly different design, with a G19-length slide and a G17-length frame and, of course, a desert tan (coyote) color. Like a cooler, smaller version of the Golden Commander.
Aside from slide length, the G19X and G19-5 have many similar features. They both have the same dual cleaning springs and barrels called the GLOCK Marksman Barrel, or GMB for short, which according to Glock improves accuracy with an improved barrel crown and improved polygonal rifling. They both have similar trigger weights, ambidextrous slide locks, almost identical internals, and both have no finger grooves, a significant improvement over the Gen 4s.
The G19X comes with an nPVD coated slide, which looks and feels much better than the black melanite coating treated with nDLC coating. What sets the G19X apart from the G19-5 and other Gen 5 pistols is the frame. It doesn't have the flared magazine that holds back the G19-5, and adds the unique lanyard loop that Glock showed off when competing for the MHS contract. If you're not a fan of the lanyard loop, you can remove it. The magazine is better than the G19-5, and the G19-5 magazine is not compatible with the G19X due to the additional cutout and flare on the magazine rim.

When it comes to performance, you should go with the G19X. It's 17+1 magazine rack leaves plenty of room for a solid grip that fills your hands. Those with larger hands will find the G19X a great model to use, allowing you to carry it much more easily. It has improved overall balance, improved control and improved accuracy compared to the G19-5.
The reason most people have an issue with the G19X is the extra half-inch bezel. It can be a little difficult to handle as a secret weapon, but it's important to remember that the G19X is for combat. Even at the range, you shouldn't give up on having an extra 2-round capacity.
In the end, it all depends on you. The Glock 19X is a very solid piece of equipment, and your decision to buy it depends on what you intend to use it for. If you're going to shoot several thousand rounds four or five times a week, this is a great option. It is also reliable if you want to use it for home security. Or maybe you just want to add it to your gun collection! If you are armed and stealthy, the G19 Gen 5 is better. Conversely, the G19X's short slide might be perfect for a carry-on option.

I have had my eye on the Glock 19X since it was introduced to the saturated semi-auto pistol market. Obviously, Glock and its many generations of "Perfections" have done a fair job of flooding this market with pistol sizes and calibers.
However, I was intrigued by the G19X, but never felt compelled to take the leap to purchase one of these crossovers. Luckily, I'm in a prime position to get some testing done these days, so I jumped at the chance to take a used G19X out for a spin.
I will tell those who want to read quickly that this is not a new pistol. But I will add that after testing this gun for the past couple of months, I have confirmed at least some of my suspicions - it shoots like a Glock. Looks like a glock. But it doesn't carry like any other Glock I've owned.
I wouldn't consider myself a Glock groupie, but I can appreciate the functionality, simplicity and prestige of Glock's mission and carry pistols. I personally carry a Glock 19 Gen4. While I don't like the 22 degree grip angle, some people hate the thumb grooves, this is a great gun. If you are one of those people, the Glock 19 Gen5 has your name on it and is very affordable.
Shooting Review: The Glock 19 Gen 5
For me, the old G19 does the job for going to the range and for my EDC needs. No recruitment required. But there was something about the Hybrid Glock 19X that always had me scratching my head wondering if I was carrying the right Glock. After trying it for a while, I can finally say that the itching is gone.
Although this is not my new carry gun, I am referring to it. The G19X takes some of the gun's weight off the palm of your hand and fits your thumb — or Polks, if you're trying to impress your friends for no particularly good reason. It adds 17 rounds of capacity to the Glock 17, throwing two more rounds into your gun over the Glock 19. While these two rounds are underrated, the shortened slide length from the Glock 17 is a significant improvement when loading the gun. Transportation.
Balance is generally better on the Glock 17 or Glock 19 variants. However, this balance I believe is a significant expense in terms of additional retention. I rarely find barrel or slide length to be a limiting factor for everyday carry of a rifle. Carrying from a seated position is one of those rare exceptions, and the Glock 19X does it very well. Grip length, on the other hand, is a fraction of an inch that can make or break a gun for everyday carry.
Now, if you carry a Glock 17 and love it, I wouldn't advocate ditching your current EDC.
