We asked DCF why single moms and dads aren't mentioned in the news and how the agency selects families. We are still waiting to hear.
According to the announcement, the Saving America Plan Act created a $1 billion fund to help families affected by the pandemic in the TANF program. Duval County Property Appraiser Jerry Holland said pumping money into the economy can increase what's available to buy goods.
Super Flow 450 Regulator.
"People are worried about inflation going up and the government putting that money back in our pockets," Holland said. "Let's talk about this balance. Well, often, when we think about inflation, we think about commodity prices. Inflation is really about the money supply. So when we think about the government talking about spending money, it increases the money supply in, which affects the demand for products.
When asked about inflation, Christina Pusha, press secretary for Gov. Ron DeSantis said: "...the federal government is causing inflation because of deficit spending. The stimulus checks were part of that. In contrast, Florida has a budget surplus is at the government level and it's already money, we don't print the money, so no, it doesn't cause inflation.
"Because if you print it, or if you release it, the key is how you put it into the economy," Holland said. "It adds to the money supply, which is the key to inflation."
